Minamata disease

I went to an exhibition on Minamata disease in Kyoto.

Many people were in the large hall, but no one spoke and went around the hall silently.

It was so hard to even cry in the face of such a harsh reality.

I was very ashamed of myself for not knowing anything about it, even though we live in the same Japan.

What do people do when they encounter a disease for which there is no cure.

I felt as if I was being asked a question quietly but strongly.
